Good morning, Winn Montessori Community! We are halfway through our second week of school and thrilled to be getting to know your students better. Below are a few important updates and reminders.

Staff Contact Information

Phone numbers and emails can be found on our school website. I've also attached a pdf here. Winn Montessori Staff Directory 2023-24.  Staff will return phone calls or emails within 48 hours. Most staff should have their Class Dojo account ready by the end of the week; there have been some delays in access for new staff.

COVID-19 Protocols

An increase in COVID-19 positives means more absences for students and staff. If your student tests positive, please call the front office so we can notify the nurse. Your student will need to stay home for five days after the day of their positive test. When they return, they will wear a mask for five more days. I will send out community notification letters on Wednesdays and Fridays to update on positives in the community. We do not quarantine classes, and I cannot share the health information of other students or staff. You can learn more on the AISD COVID Dashboard.

Dismissal Signs

Please be sure to have your blue and white dismissal sign with you for pick-up. Starting today, families without the sign will need to go to the front office to pick-up their child. Safety is our number one priority and this protocol helps keep all students safe, especially when we have substitutes or new staff supporting dismissal. If you don't yet have a blue/white dismissal sign, please call the front office at 512-414-2390 so they can make you one.

New Assistant Principal

Welcome to Nayane Olivas, our new full-time assistant principal! Here is a brief message from her:

My name is Nayane Olivas and I’m beyond excited to join Winn Montessori as your new Assistant Principal. I’m originally from Brasil and have been an educator for 15 years. I have served as an Assistant Principal in Austin ISD for two years and I can’t wait to serve now at Winn Montessori. I’m married to an educator and we have 3 kids, a cat, and a dog. Our family loves to embrace our American, Brazilian, and Mexican culture/language. 

PTA Playground Playdate
