Winn Montessori's PTA is a small (but growing!) group of dedicated caregivers and staff members working toward building community at our school and supporting our wonderful staff.  We would love to have you as a part of our PTA community!

If you'd like to get involved, please submit your information on this Google form and we'll add you to our email list to engage you in meetings, get you on a committee and get you involved in future events.

General meetings are held three times per year and Spanish translation is provided.  Check out the school calendar for our next meeting date.  We would love to see you there!  All are welcome!

What is PTA and why should I join?

PTA is a nonprofit membership organization.  We need at least 20 members to join each school year to remain in good standing with Texas and national PTA and retain our tax-exempt status. Being tax exempt helps us make the most of the money we raise so it can go right back into the Winn Montessori community.

What does the PTA do?

Below are just a few of the ways the Winn Montessori PTA supports our community:

• Community building through playdates, movie nights, spirit nights at local restaurants, summer pool meetups and other events throughout the year
• Supporting our wonderful staff with meals and snacks throughout the year and a week of love during staff appreciation week every May
• Providing a free Winn Montessori t-shirt for every student and staff member each school year
• Building and maintaining the beautiful fruit and vegetable garden on the school grounds
• Providing monetary support for campus events such as Circle of Games Field Day, the Butterfly Festival and the Missoula Children's Theatre week to keep those events free to participate in and attend
• Ensuring every student receives a book during the annual book fair regardless of their ability to purchase one
• Aiding the school in collecting needed supplies every fall through a school supplies sale and donation program
• Coordinating volunteers for various school events and ongoing maintenance of Montessori materials
• Maintaining a closet of gently used uniforms for families to donate what their students have outgrown and shop for the next sizes up for free
• Aiding with school communications
• Advocating for campus improvements and repairs with the district, city and state

How can I join the PTA?

To join the PTA, go to JoinPTA.org and select "Austin ISD" and "Winn Montessori" in the drop-down menus.  If you'd like to sponsor a membership for a family for whom the financial aspect of membership is a barrier, please let us know!

Please note that ALL caregivers and community members are considered members of the Winn Montessori PTA and are encouraged to participate in volunteer opportunities, general PTA meetings and school discussions REGARDLESS of official membership status. However, only registered members will be able to vote in the case that an issue requires a membership vote.
